Eine Boeing 737-200 der RUTACA AIRLINES, YV 162 San Antonio nach Caracas, kam bei der Landung am Simon Bolvar-Flughafen von der Landebahn ab und geriet in einen Graben.
Die 47 Passagiere und 7 Besatzungsmitglieder konnten unverletzt aus der Maschine geborgen werden.
Der Flughafen war für die Zeit der Bergung des Flugzeuges für 2 Stunden geschlossen.
